New AU peacekeepers army base attacked

Shabelle: MOGADISHU

Armed insurgents fighters have assaulted a Burundian troops based a new army base in the Somali capital later on Monday, residents said.

The clash started when Former Jalle Siad Military camp have been under fired by Islamist fighters where AMISOM troops based sparking heavy fighting.

The two sides have pounded with different kinds of weapons including artillery shelling that created huge fears to the nearby residents.

Its yet unknown the exact causalities of that attack although sources close to Burundian forces told Shabelle that their troops have suffered indefinite causalities as their officials have declined to comment on the latest clashes.

The attack on the new base comes following the attacked troops have replaced Ethiopian troops from that army base describing it as Djibouti peace pact implementation.

More than 3,400 AU peacekeeping forces are in Mogadishu those based specific locations but they do little to do the violence in Mogadishu.
